Dr. Song Wang, PhD from the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2014, is currently an associate researcher in the Three dimensional structure of the Milky way group and a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association, Chinese Academy of Sciences
Research majors/interests include:
(1) Black hole binaries. Searching for compact objects using the time-domain spectral data such as LAMOST and measuring their dynamic masses; studying the properties of ultra-luminous X-ray sources using Chandra/XMM-Newtron data and trying to distinguish the nature of their central objects (neutron stars or black holes).
(2) Stellar activity. Based on X-ray, radio and optical spectral data, analyzing the activity of the stellar corona and chromosphere, and trying to understand the magnetic dynamo of different types of stars.
(3) Globular clusters. Performing stellar population analysis and structural parameter fitting for clusters in nearby galaxies, in order to understand the formation and evolution history of galaxies.
I have published 47 articles in refereed journals, with more than 400 citations. I am the first/communicating author on 15 of them. I am the co-author of two Nature papers. The list of papers is as follows:
