Huaqing Cheng received his Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in the summer of 2020, under the supervision of Professor Bifang Liu. From July 2020 to January 2026, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at NAOC in collaboration with Professor Weimin Yuan. Following this, he worked as a Research Assistant and was promoted to Research Associate in August 2026.
His research mainly focuses on black hole accretion physics, including multi-wavelength studies of X-ray binaries (XRBs) and Active Galactic Nuclei (AGNs), and disc-corona models in various accreting systems. He also works on the development of data analysis software and the calibration of the Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT) onboard the EP satellite.
