Title: Properties of High-energy Emissions from Magnetars and Connections to FRBs

Abstract: Magnetars are neutron stars with magnetic fields much larger than the quantum critical value 4.4×10^13 G, which have attracted more attention both from the physical and astronomical point of views. Recently, a Galactic fast radio burst (FRB) was detected to be associated with an X-ray burst from the magetar SGR J1935+2154, which suggests that at least some FRBs originate from magnetars. In this talk, I will introduce the observation properties of high-energy emissions from magnetars, including X-ray emissions, FRBs, their polarization properties, etc., and the corresponding implications in physics.
Bio: 杨元培本科就读于南京大学，2016年从南京大学天文与空间科学学院博士毕业, 2016年至2019年在北京大学科维理天文与天体物理研究生做博士后，入选中国博士后创新人才支持计划，2019年加入云南大学中国西南天文研究所担任副教授，2020年入选云南省千人计划。杨元培主要从事高能天体物理、时域天文、快速射电暴、引力波电磁对应体等研究。已发表SCI论文43篇，第一／通讯作者26篇，两次获得IOP中国高引用文章奖，不同成果被Science、Nature、Physics Today 等报道。
