The CRAFTS HI Narrow All-sky (CHINA) survey
The Commensal Radio Astronomy FAST Survey (CRAFTS, Li et al. 2018 doi:10.1109/MMM.2018.2802178) is a legacy survey with the Five Hundred meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST). Based on a novel high-cadence-CAL (Krco et al., in prep) technique, CRAFTS achieves unprecedented commensality in that multiple surveys are carried out simultaneously in a single drift-scan, including Galactic HI (narrow-band) imaging, HI galaxies (wide-band), Pulsar search, and transient (FRB, SETI) surveys.
The CRAFTS HI Narrow All-sky (CHINA) survey , as part of CRAFTS has been mapping the Galactic 21cm emission of atomic Hydrogen (HI). The first data release (DR1) of CHINA, containing ~4500 d^2 calibrated publication quality images in 10 degree x 10 degree Stokes I FITS cubes, can be downloaded from the HIVerse platform (https://hiverse.alkaidos.cn/).
The DR1 data can also be accessed through ScienceDB (https://doi.org/10.57760/sciencedb.07779).
Feel free to use the data with a citation to the survey decription papers above. The release data will be updated as more data are being taken and processed. We are working to deliver the full velocity range (-3000 to +3000 km/sec) at full spectral resolution (~0.1 km/sec). Check back on the HIVerse platform for further updates. Any question on the CHINA survey may be forwarded to Marko Krco (CHINA Survey lead) at marko@nao.cas.cn. Any question on using the HIVerse platform may be forwarded to Xuejian Jiang (jiangxuejian@zhejianglab.edu.cn).
CRAFTS has thus far observed approximately 20% of the planned sky coverage. The published cubes contain LSR velocities from -600 to +600 km/sec which includes all the Galactic HI emission in this region. The sensitivity is non-uniform, with ~0.17K RMS per 0.2 km/sec channel or better. The original beam size is ~3 arcmin while the effective beam size is 4 arcmin.

If you have interesting science targets for upcoming CRAFTS observations, we encourage you to submit a simple proposal to Di Li (CRAFTS PI, dili@nao.cas.cn). Please include a brief Scientific justification, sensitivity estimate, sky coverage, and anticipated results. We will try to prioritize your targets in upcoming CRAFTS observations. Please note that CRAFTS is mostly a "shallow" survey with an effective integration time of ~36 seconds at any given sky position.
Any proposed CRAFTS drifts should be at least 3 hours long in order to ensure the best flux calibration. All CRAFTS observations are observed at Declinations (J2000) from the following list in order to ensure full coverage: http://groups.bao.ac.cn/ism/CRAFTS/202203/t20220310_683695.html
